Visakhapatnam: ₹400 Crore Road Development Plan Could Improve Connectivity

Visakhapatnam is set to receive a significant road infrastructure push, with the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation receiving administrative approval for a ₹400 crore road development programme.

The programme is expected to cover approximately 205 km of roads across the city. Roads in high- and medium-density areas will be upgraded, with works including conversion of existing roads into bituminous or cement-concrete roads along with supporting infrastructure.

GVMC and the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority are expected to contribute ₹200 crore each toward the programme.

Why is road infrastructure important for real estate?

Infrastructure development is closely connected with property markets.

Better roads can improve accessibility between residential areas, employment centres, schools, hospitals, commercial zones and major transport routes.

When connectivity improves, previously less-accessible areas can become more attractive to residents and businesses.
